DOCUMENTARY ART PLATFORM
N/TRY
2016 – ongoing

DOCUMENTARY-SENSORY PERFORMANCE
19 Dec at 19:30 |20, 21 Dec. at 18:00 and 20:00 | All halls | BG, EN | Tickets: 12/10 BGN

LOW COST is inspired by the social dimensions of tourism in Bulgaria. Questions like how we present ourselves to the outside world, how we think of the separations "abroad" and "at home", what kind of mask we create and what personality hides beneath it, are the basis for exploring the symptoms of the national identity problem and its presentation in the XXI-st century. The performance is a journey into different dimensions of the tourist experience.

The Transition Generation
20. March | 18:00 | Pesha Nikolova Hall
DISCUSSION

This meeting within the module of events "N/TRY Backward" attempts to do a complete, thorough and effective reading of the transition period in Bulgaria as seen through the eyes of the people who were then teenagers and are today 35-40 years old. Have the times of revolutionary ideas and non-conformism made them inflexible and unable to adapt today? Where does the nostalgia for the freedom of teenage years end and the crisis of meaning begin? Which part of that transition can we not part with for the past 20 years and does this hinder our present and its natural pace of innovation and change? Moderators: Neda Sokolovska, Rada Ezekieva.
In Bulgarian.

DOCUMENTARY THEATRE

The newest play by Documentary Theatre Studio VOX POPULI is dedicated to the transition in Bulgaria - the years from 1989 to 1997. Extreme, contradictory, uncertain, this period of time proved decisive for the generation that was growing up then. "Generation Ь" is dedicated exactly to the teenagers of the transition, the mature individuals of modern times, to their fears and loneliness wrapped in alcohol and drugs, to their musical tastes that were the most powerful attempt for rebellion. The play is a search for identity in the gravity-free 90s.
